DRAIN COOLANT\n\n2. REMOVE WATER OUTLET\nRemove the three bolts and the water outlet from the water outlet housing.\n\n3. REMOVE THERMOSTAT AND GASKET\n\nINSPECTION OF THERMOSTAT\n\nNOTE: The thermostat is numbered according to the valve opening temperature.\n\n(a) Immerse the thermostat in water and heat the water gradually.\n\n(b) Check the valve opening temperature and valve lift. If the valve opening temperature and valve lift are not within the following specifications, replace the thermostat.\n\nValve opening temperature:\n86 — 90°C (187 — 194°F)\n\nValve lift:\nMore than 8 mm (0.31 in.) at 100°C (212°F)\n\n(c) Check that valve spring is tight when the thermostat is fully closed. Replace if necessary.\n\nINSTALLATION OF THERMOSTAT\n\n1. PLACE THERMOSTAT IN WATER OUTLET HOUSING\nInstall the thermostat with the jiggle valve upward.\n\n2. INSTALL WATER OUTLET\nInstall the water outlet, facing the printed side of gasket forward.\n\n3. FILL WITH COOLANT\n\n4.
