{"model":"mk2","model_name":"MK2 Supra","vehicle":"Toyota Supra A60 (1982–1986, 5M-GE)","document":"Repair Manual","section":"EM","section_name":"Engine Mechanical","page":26,"pages_in_section":64,"title":"Engine Mechanical","section_header":"Engine Mechanical — Cylinder Head","ocr_text":"EM-26\n\nENGINE MECHANICAL — Cylinder Head\n\n(d) Using a caliper gauge, measure the valve guide bore of the cylinder head.\n\nBoth intake and exhaust\n\nGuide bore mm (in.) | Guide size\n13.000-13.027 | Use STD\n(0.5118-0.5129)\nOver 13.027 | Use O/S 0.05\n(0.5129)\n\n(e) Select a new valve guide.\nIf the valve guide bore of the cylinder head is more than 13.027 mm (0.5129 in.), machine the bore to the following dimensions.\n\nRebored valve guide bushing bore dimension (cold):\n13.05-13.077 mm (0.5138-0.5148 in.)\n\n(f) Heat the cylinder head to about 90°C (194°F).\n(g) Using SST and a hammer, drive in the new valve guide until the snap ring makes contact with the cylinder head.\n\nSST 09201-60011\n\n(h) Using a sharp 8-mm reamer, ream the valve guide to obtain specified clearance between the guide and new valve.\n\nStandard oil clearance:\nIntake: 0.025 — 0.060 mm\n(0.0010 — 0.0024 in.)\nExhaust: 0.030 — 0.068 mm\n(0.0012 — 0.0028 in.)\n\n11. INSPECT AND GRIND VALVES\n\n(a) Grind valves only enough to remove pits and carbon.
