INSPECT CAMSHAFT HOUSINGS FOR FLATNESS\nUsing a precision straight edge and feeler gauge, check the surfaces contacting the cylinder head for warpage.\nMaximum cylinder head surface warpage:\n0.10 mm (0.0039 in.)\nIf warpage is greater than maximum, replace the housing.\n\nREPLACEMENT OF CAMSHAFT HOUSING OIL SEAL\n\nNOTE: There are two ways of oil seal replacement.\n\n1. IF CAMSHAFT IS REMOVED FROM CAMSHAFT HOUSING:\n\n(a) Remove the oil seal from the camshaft housing.\n• Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal.\n\n(b) Install the new oil seal on the camshaft housing.\n• Apply MP grease to the oil seal.\n• Using SST, install the new oil seal.\nSST 09214-60010\n\n2. IF CAMSHAFT HOUSING IS INSTALLED ON CYLINDER HEAD:\n\n(a) Cut the oil seal.\n• As shown in the figure, cut off the oil seal lips.\n\n(b) Remove the oil seals.\n• Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal.\nNOTE: Be careful not to damage the camshaft.
