CAREFULLY REMOVE HIGH TENSION CORDS BY RUBBER\nTHEIR BOOTS\nCAUTION: DO NOT pull on the wires.\nThe conductor inside may be damaged.\n\n2. INSPECT CORD TERMINALS\nCheck the terminals for corrosion, breaks or distortion.\nReplace wire as required.\n\n3. CHECK WIRE RESISTANCE\nUsing an ohmmeter, check that the resistance does not exceed the maximum. Replact the cord as required.\nMaximum resistance: 25 kΩ per cord\n\nINSPECTION OF SPARK PLUG\n(Platinum Tipped Spark Plug)\nCAUTION:\n• NEVER USE WIRE BRUSH FOR CLEANING\n• NEVER ATTEMPT TO ADJUST GAP ON USED PLUG\n• SPARK PLUGS SHOULD BE REPLACED EVERY 60,000 miles\n(100,000 km)\n\n1. INSPECT ELECTRODE\n(a) If using a megger (high insulation resistance meter):\nMeasure the insulation resistance.\nCorrect insulation resistance: More than 10 MΩ\nIf less than 10 MΩ, clean the plug. (See page IG-6)\n\n(b) If not using a megger:\nQuickly race the engine to 4,000 rpm five times.\nVisually inspect the spark plugs.\nIf the electrode is dry ..... Okay\nIf the electrode is wet ..... Clean the plug\n\n2.
