DISCONNECT HIGH-TENSION CORD\n\n2. MEASURE COIL RESISTANCE\n(a) Disconnect ignition coil connectors.\n(b) Measure primary coil resistance.\nUsing an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the positive (+) (brown side) and negative (—) (black side) terminals.\nPrimary coil resistance (cold): 0.4 — 0.5 Ω\n(c) Measure secondary coil resistance.\nUsing an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the positive (+) terminal (brown side) and the high tension terminal.\nSecondary coil resistance (cold): 8.5 — 11.5 kΩ\n\n3. CONNECT HIGH-TENSION CORD\n\nON-VEHICLE INSPECTION OF DISTRIBUTOR\n\n1. INSPECT DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR\n(a) Check for cracks, carbon tracks, burnt or corroded terminals.\n(b) Check the distributor center contact for wear.\nIf a problem is found, replace the component.\n\n2.
