INSPECT RELIEF VALVE\nCheck the relief valve for scoring or wear.\nIf damaged, replace the valve or pump assembly.\n\n2. MEASURE BODY CLEARANCE\nUsing a feeler gauge, measure the clearance between the\ndriven gear and body.\nStandard clearance: 0.03 - 0.08 mm\n(0.0012 - 0.0024 in.)\nMaximum clearance: 0.2 mm (0.008 in.)\nIf the clearance is greater than maximum, replace the gear\nand/or body.\n\n3. MEASURE GEAR BACKLASH\nUsing a feeler gauge, measure the backlash as shown.\nStandard clearance: 0.5 - 0.8mm\n(0.020 - 0.024 in.)\nMaximum backlash: 0.9 mm (0.035 in.)\nIf the blaklash is greater than maximum, replace the shaft\nsubassembly and/or driven gear.\n\n4.
