CHECK OIL CLEARANCE OF SECOND AND COUNTER FIFTH GEAR\nUsing a dial indicator, measure the oil clearance between the gear and output shaft with the needle roller bearing installed.\nStandard clearance:\n2nd gear 0.009 — 0.060 mm\n(0.0004 — 0.0024 in.)\n5th gear 0.009 — 0.062 mm\n(0.0004 — 0.0024 in.)\nMaximum clearance: 0.15 mm (0.0059 in.)\nIf the clearance exceeds the limit, replace the gear, output shaft and needle roller bearing.\n\n4. CHECK OIL CLEARANCE OF THIRD GEAR\nUsing a dial indicator, measure the oil clearance between the gear and output shaft.\nStandard clearance: 0.060 — 0.103 mm\n(0.0024 — 0.0041 in.)\nMaximum clearance: 0.20 mm (0.0079 in.)\nIf the clearance exceeds the limit, replace the gear and output shaft.\n\n5.
