REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER COVER\nRemove the eight bolts, cover and gasket.\n\n2. REMOVE SIDE GEAR SHAFT\nUsing SST, remove the side gear shaft from the differential carrier.\nSST 09520-22011\n\nSST\n\n3. REMOVE SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL\nUsing SST, remove the oil seal.\nSST 09308-00010\n\nSST\n\n4. CHECK RING GEAR RUNOUT\nIf the runout is greater than maximum, install a new ring gear.\nMaximum runout: 0.07 mm (0.0028 in.)\n\n5. CHECK RING GEAR BACKLASH\nIf the backlash is not within specification, adjust the side bearing preload or repair as necessary.
