INSTALL SIDE GEAR SHAFT\n(a) Before installing the shaft, replace the snap ring.\n(b) Using a plastic hammer, drive in the side gear shaft until it contacts the pinion shaft.\nNOTE: As the LSD cannot be checked visually, check that the shaft is fully inserted by confirming the sound it makes when it is tapped.\n\n18. MEASURE SIDE GEAR SHAFT RUNOUT\nMaximum runout: 0.20 mm (0.0079 in.)\nIf the runout is greater than the maximum, replace the side gear shaft.\n\n19. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER COVER\n\nINSTALLATION OF DIFFERENTIAL\n(See page RA-20)\n\n1. INSTALL DIFFERENTIAL\nSupport the differential with a jack and install the carrier bolt.\nTorque: 850 kg-cm (61 ft-lb, 83 N-m)\n\n2.
