COVER STEERING WHEEL PAD WITH CARDBOARD BOX OR TIRES\n\n(Covering Method Using Cardboard Box)\n\nCover the steering wheel pad with the cardboard box and weigh the cardboard box down in four places with a at least 20 kg (44 lb, 186 N).\n\nSize of cardboard box: Must exceed the following dimensions —\n\nx = 460 mm (18.11 in.)\n\nWhen dimension \"y\" of the cardboard box exceeds 650 mm, tie the wheel with tire the steering wheel pad is tied to—\n\nx = 460 mm (18.11 in.) + width of tire\n\ny = 650 mm (25.59 in.)\n\nNOTICE: If a cardboard box smaller than the size specified is used, the cardboard box will be broken by the shock of the airbag deployment.\n\n(Covering Method Using Tires)\n\nPlace at least three tires without disc wheel on top of the disc wheel with tire to which the steering wheel pad is tied.\n\nTire size: Must exceed the following dimensions —\nWidth         185 mm (7.28 in.)\nInner diam.   360 mm (14.17 in.)\n\nCAUTION: Do not use tires with disc wheels.\n\nNOTICE: The tires may be marked by the airbag deployment, so use redundant tires.\n\n7. AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT\n\n(a) Confirm that no one is within 10 m (33 ft) of the disc wheel the steering wheel pad is tied to.\n\n(b) Press the SST activation switch and deploy the airbag.\n\nHINT: The airbag deploys simultaneously as the LED of the SST activation switch lights up.\n\n8. DISPOSAL OF STEERING WHEEL PAD (WITH AIRBAG)\n\nCAUTION:\n\n• A steering wheel pad with airbag deployed is very hot, so leave it alone for at least 30 minutes after deployment.\n\n• Use gloves and safety glasses when handling a steering wheel pad with deployed airbag.\n\n• Do not apply water, etc. to a steering wheel pad with deployed airbag.\n\n• Always wash your hands with water after completing the
