DEFECTIVE AUTO SEARCH MECHANISM\n\nManual search possible but automatic search mechanism does not function or does not stop at all receivable stations.\n\nPossible causes:\n• Poor search sensitivity (SENS button)\n• Defective radio\n\nTEST\n\nDoes needle move when search button is pushed? → Yes → Is desired broadcast receivable when button is at \"DISTANT\" position? → Yes → OK\n↓ No\nReplace radio\n↓ No\nCheck if desired broadcast can actually be received in the area. If receivable, replace radio.\n\nAntenna Motor Control Relay\n\nINSPECTION OF RELAY\n\n1. INSPECT RELAY OPERATION (ANTENNA UP)\n\n(a) Connect the voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the negative (−) lead to terminal 4.\n\n(b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminals 6, 7 and 8 and the negative (−) lead to terminal 3.\n\n(c) Check that there is battery voltage.\n\nHINT: Measure the voltage within 7 seconds after connecting the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 8.\n\n2. INSPECT RELAY OPERATION (ANTENNA DOWN)\n\n(a) Connect the voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal 4 and the negative (−) lead to terminal 1.\n\n(b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminals 6 and 7 and the negative (−) lead to terminal 2.\n\n(c) Disconnect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6.\n\n(d) Check that there is battery voltage.\n\nHINT: Measure the voltage within 7 seconds after disconnecting the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6.\n\n3. INSPECT RELAY OPERATION (ANTENNA STOP)\n\n(a) Connect the voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the negative (−) lead to terminal 4.\n\n(b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminals 7, 9 and the negative (−) lead to terminal 2.\n\n(c) Check that there is no battery voltage.\n\nIf operation is not as specified, replace the
