DRAIN COOLANT\n\n2. REMOVE WATER OUTLET AND THERMOSTAT\n(a) Remove the two bolts, water outlet and thermostat with gasket from the water outlet housing.\n(b) Remove the gasket from the thermostat.\n\nINSPECTION OF THERMOSTAT\n\nINSPECT THERMOSTAT\nHINT: Thermostat is numbered according to the valve opening temperature.\n(a) Immerse the thermostat in water and heat the water gradually.\n(b) Check the valve opening temperature.\nValve opening temperature:\n86 — 90°C (187 — 194°F)\nIf the valve opening temperature is not within specification, replace the thermostat.\n(c) Check the valve lift.\nValve lift:\n8 mm (0.31 in.) or more at 100°C (212°F)\nIf the valve lift is less than specification, replace the thermostat.\n(d) Check that the valve spring is tight when the thermostat is fully closed.\nIf necessary, replace the thermostat.\n\nINSTALLATION OF THERMOSTAT\n\n1. INSTALL THERMOSTAT AND WATER OUTLET\n(a) Place a new gasket to the thermostat.\n(b) Install the thermostat with the jiggle valve facing upward as shown in the illustration, and water outlet with the two bolts.\nTorque: 80 kg·cm (69 in.·lb, 7.8 N·m)\n\n2. FILL WITH COOLANT\n\n3.
