Check that the air pass-\nes through to the air filter freely.\n\n(d) Start the engine and maintain speed at 2,500 rpm.\n(e) Repeat the above test. Check that there is a strong\nresistance to air flow.\nIf a problem is found, replace the EGR vacuum modulator.\n(f) Reconnect the vacuum hoses to the proper location.\n\nINSPECTION OF VSV\n\n1. CHECK VACUUM CIRCUIT CONTINUITY IN VSV BY\nBLOWING AIR INTO PIPE\n\n(a) Connect the VSV terminals to the battery terminals\nas illustrated.\n(b) Blow into pipe E and check that air comes out of the\nair filter.\n\n(c) Disconnect the battery.\n(d) Blow into pipe E and check that air comes out of\npipe G.\nIf a problem is found, replace the VSV.\n\n2.
