Thickness of shim used\nA ........ Valve clearance measured\nN ........ Thickness of shim new\n\nIntake side:     N = T + (A - 0.20 mm (0.0079 in.))\nExhaust side:  N = T + (A - 0.25 mm (0.0098 in.))\n\n• Select a new shim with a thickness as close as possible to the calculated value.\n\nHINT: Shims are available in 17 sizes, in increments of 0.050 mm (0.0020 in.), from 2.500 mm (0.0984 in.) to 3.300 mm (0.1299 in.).\n\n(c) Install the new adjusting shim.\n• Place the new adjusting shim on the valve lifter.\n• Using SST (A), press down the valve lifter and remove SST (B).\nSST 09248-55010\n(d) Recheck the valve clearance.\n\n7. INSTALL CYLINDER HEAD COVERS\n(See step 4 on pages EM-55, 56)\n\n8. INSTALL AIR INTAKE CONNECTOR\n\n(a) Install a new gasket and intake connector with the four bolts and two nuts.\nTorque: 180 kg·cm (13 ft-lb, 18 N·m)\n\n(b) Install the air intake connector bracket mounting
