{"model":"mk3","model_name":"MK3 Supra","vehicle":"Toyota Supra A70 (1986.5–1992, 7M-GE / 7M-GTE)","document":"Repair Manual","section":"IG","section_name":"Ignition System","page":5,"pages_in_section":26,"title":"On-Vehicle Inspection (7M-GE) Spark Test","section_header":"Ignition System — On-Vehicle Inspection (7M-GE)","ocr_text":"IGNITION SYSTEM — On-Vehicle Inspection (7M-GE)\n\nON-VEHICLE INSPECTION (7M-GE)\nSPARK TEST\n\nCHECK THAT SPARK OCCURS\n(a) Disconnect high-tension cord from the distributor.\n(b) Hold the end approx. 12.5 mm (0.50 in.) from body of vehicle.\n(c) See if spark occurs while engine is being cranked.\nHINT: To prevent gasoline from being injected from injectors during this test, crank the engine for no more than 1-2 seconds at a time.\n\nIf the spark does not occur, perform the test as follows:\n\nSPARK TEST\n\nNO\nCHECK CONNECTION OF IGNITION COIL, IGNITER AND DISTRIBUTOR CONNECTORS\nBAD → Connect securely.\nOK ↓\n\nCHECK RESISTANCE OF HIGH-TENSION CORDS (See page IG-6)\nBAD → Replace the cord(s).\nOK ↓\n\nCHECK POWER SUPPLY TO IGNITION COIL\n1. Ignition switch turn to ON.\n2.
