(If the IC terminals are touched, the IC may be destroyed by static electricity.)\n    (b)  To disconnect vacuum hose, pull on the end, not the middle of the hose.\n    (c)  To pull apart electrical connectors, pull on the connector itself not the wires.\n    (d)  Be careful not to drop electrical components, such as sensors or relays. If they are dropped on a hard floor, they should be replaced and not reused.\n    (e)  When steam cleaning an engine, protect the distributor, coil, air filter and air intake from water.\n    (f)  Never use an impact wrench to remove or install temperature switches or temperature sensors.\n    (g)  When checking continuity at the wire connector, insert the tester probe carefully to prevent terminals from bending.\n    (h)  When using a vacuum gauge, never force the hose onto a connector that is too large. Use a step-down adapter instead. Once the hose has been stretched, it may leak.\n\n13  Tag hoses before disconnecting them:\n    (a)  When disconnecting vacuum hose, use tags to identify how they should be reconnected.\n    (b)  After completing a job, double check that the vacuum hoses are properly connected. A label under the hood shows the proper layout.","image":"https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/images/mk3/IN/IN_006.png","url":"https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/mk3/tsrm/IN/6","prev":{"page":5,"url":"https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/mk3/tsrm/IN/5","api":"https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/5"},"next":{"page":7,"url":"https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/mk3/tsrm/IN/7","api":"https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/7"},"section_url":"https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/mk3/tsrm/IN","section_api_pages":["https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/1","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/2","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/3","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/4","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/5","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/6","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/7","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/8","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/9","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/10","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/11","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/12","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/13","https://tsrm.sasquatchvc.com/api/pages/mk3/tsrm/IN/14"],"note":"OCR transcript of a scanned Toyota factory manual page; verify critical values (torque specs, part numbers) against the image."}
