ASSEMBLE RH CASE\n   (a) If necessary, install the adjusting shims.\n\n   (b) Install the thrust washer, clutch plate as shown in\n       the figure.\n   HINT: Install the thrust washer without the oil groove on\n   the outermost side and so that it has contact with the\n   side of case which has no oil groove.\n   (c) Install the side gear.\n\n2. ASSEMBLE LH CASE IN SAME PROCEDURE\n\n3. INSTALL PINION WASHER AND RH RETAINER TO SPIDER\n   (a) Install the pinion gear and washer.\n   (b) Align the RH retainer hole with the spider knock pin\n       and install.\n\n4. INSTALL SPIDER, PINION AND RH RETAINER TO RH CASE\n   Check that the RH retainer is securely on the spider pin.\n\n5. MEASURE PINION GEAR BACKLASH\n   (a) Secure the side gear and measure the backlash while\n       pushing in the spider retainer.\n   Backlash: 0.05 — 0.20 mm (0.0020 — 0.0079 in.)\n   HINT: Measure at all four locations.\n   If the backlash is not within specification, select an adjust-\n   ing shim.\n\n6.
