INSPECT ROTOR FOR OPEN CIRCUIT\nUsing an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between\nthe slip rings.\nStandard resistance:\n2.8–3.0 Ω at 20˚C (68˚C)\nIf there is no continuity, replace the rotor\n\nContinuity\nOhmmeter\nCH0784\n\n2. INSPECT ROTOR FOR GROUND\nUsing an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity be-\ntween the slip ring and rotor.If there is continuity, replace the\nrotor.\n\nOhmmeter\nNo Continuity\nCH0783\n\n3. INSPECT SLIP RINGS\n(a) Check that the slip rings are not rough or scored. If rough or\nscored, replace the rotor.\n(b) Using a vernier caliper, measure the slip ring diameter.\nStandard diameter:\n14.2–14.4 mm (0.559–0.567 in.)\nMinimum diameter:\n12.8 mm (0.504 in.)\nIf the diameter is less than minimum, replace the rotor.\n\nCH1023\n\nStator (Drive End Frame)\n1. INSPECT STATOR FOR OPEN CIRCUIT\nUsing an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between\nthe coil leads.If there is no continuity, replace the drive end\nframe assembly.\n\nConituinity\nOhmmeter\nP10622\n\n2.
