(See step 14 in timing belt installation)\n(e) Remove the SST from the DLC1.\nSST 09843–18020\n5. FURTHER CHECK IGNITION TIMING\nIgnition timing:\n10–20° BTDC @ idle\n(Transmission in neutral position)\nHINT: The timing mark moves in a range between 10° and 20°.\n6. DISCONNECT TACHOMETER AND TIMING LIGHT\n\nIDLE SPEED INSPECTION\n1. INITIAL CONDITIONS\n(a) Engine at normal operating temperature\n(b) Air cleaner installed\n(c) All pipes and hoses of air induction system connected\n(d) All accessories switched OFF\n(e) All vacuum lines properly connected\nHINT: All vacuum hoses for EGR system, etc. should be properly connected.\n(f) SFI system wiring connectors fully plugged\n(g) Ignition timing set correctly\n(h) Transmission in neutral position\n2. CONNECT TACHOMETER\n(See step 2 in ignition timing inspection and adjustment (2JZ–GE))\n3. INSPECT IDLE SPEED\n(a) Race the engine speed at 2,500 rpm for approx. 90 seconds.\n(b) Check the idle speed.\nIdle speed:\n2JZ–GE\n700 ± 50 rpm\n2JZ–GTE\n650 ± 50 rpm\nIf the idle speed is not as specified, check the IAC valve. (See on–vehicle inspection in ISC valve in SFI System)\n4. DISCONNECT
