REMOVE AIR INTAKE CHAMBER STAYS\n(a) Remove the bolt, nut and No.1 stay.\n(b) Remove the bolt, nut and No.2 stay.\n13. REMOVE NO.2 VACUUM PIPE AND VSV ASSEMBLY\n\n5 mm\nHexagon\nWrench\n\nP12657\n\n14. REMOVE NO.3 TIMING BELT COVER\n(a) Remove the oil filler cap.\n(b) Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 6 bolts and timing\nbelt cover.\n15. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD REAR COVER\nUsing a 5 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 4 bolts and cylin-\nder head rear cover.\n16. DISCONNECT HIGH–TENSION CORDS FROM\nCYLINDER HEAD COVERS\n(See step 4 in high–tension cords and cord clamps re-\nmoval in Ignition System)\n17. REMOVE DISTRIBUTOR AND CORDS ASSEMBLY\n(See steps 1 to 3 in distributor removal in Ignition Sys-\ntem)\n18. REMOVE SPARK PLUGS\n19. REMOVE TIMING BELT FROM CAMSHAFT TIMING\nPULLEYS\n(See steps 5 to 8 in timing belt removal)\nNOTICE:\n• Support the timing belt, so that the meshing of the crank-\nshaft timing pulley and timing belt does not shift.\n• Be careful not to drop anything inside the timing belt cov-\ner.\n• Do not allow the timing belt to come into contact with oil,\nwater or dust.\n20. REMOVE WATER BYPASS OUTLET AND NO.1 WATER\nBYPASS PIPE\n(See step 13 in water pump removal in Cooling System)\n\nP12648\n\n21. DISCONNECT FUEL RETURN HOSE\n(a) Disconnect the fuel return hose from the fuel return pipe. Plug\nthe hose end.\n(b) Disconnect the fuel return hose from the oil dipstick guide.\n22. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE BRACET\nRemove the bolt and bracket, disconnect the engine wire the\nintake manifold stay.\n\nFuel Return
