INSPECT CYLINDER HEAD BOLTS\nUsing a vernier caliper, measure the thread outside diameter\nof the bolt.\nStandard outside diameter:\n10.8–11.0 mm (0.425–0.433 in.)\nMinimum outside diameter:\n10.7 mm (0.421 in.)\nIf the diameter is less than minimum, replace the bolt.\n\nCYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY\nHINT:\n• Thoroughly clean all parts to be assembled.\n• Before installing the parts, apply new engine oil to all\nsliding and rotating surfaces.\n• Replace all gaskets and oil seals with new ones.\n\nAdhesive Width\n2 – 3 mm\nAdhesive\n10 mm\nP02185\n\n1. INSTALL HEATER UNION\nHINT: When using a new cylinder head, a new heater union\nmust be installed.\n(a) Apply adhesive to the end of the heater union as shown in the\nillustration.\nAdhesive:\nPart No. 08833–00070, THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent\n\nProtrusion\nP02451\n208040\n\n(b) Using a wooden block and hammer, tap in a new heater\nunion, leaving standard position protruding from the cylinder\nhead.\nStandard protrusion:\n2JZ–GE\n48 mm (1.89 in.)\n2JZ–GTE\n73 mm (2.87 in.)\nNOTICE: Do not tap it in too far.\n\nP02361\n\n2. INSTALL VALVES\n(a) Install a new oil seal on the valve guide
