WARM UP AND STOP ENGINE\nAllow the engine to warm up to normal operating tempera-\nture.\n2. 2JZ–GE:\nDISCONNECT DISTRIBUTOR CONNECTOR\n3. 2JZ–GTE:\nDISCONNECT CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CON-\nNECTORS\n4. 2JZ–GE:\nDISCONNECT HIGH–TENSION CORDS FROM SPARK\nPLUGS\n(See high–tension cords and cord clamps removal in\nIgnition System)\n5. 2JZ–GTE:\nREMOVE IGNITION COILS ASSEMBLIES\n(See ignition coils removal in Ignition System)\n6. REMOVE SPARK PLUGS\n7. CHECK CYLINDER COMPRESSION\n(a) Insert a compression tester into the spark plug hole.\n(b) While cranking the engine, measure the compression\npressure.\nHINT: Always use a fully charged battery to obtain engine rev-\nolutions of 250 rpm or more.\n(c) Repeat steps (a) through (b) for each cylinder.\nNOTICE: This measurement must be done in as short a time as\npossible.\nStandard pressure:\n2JZ–GE\n1,275 kPa (13.0 kgf/cm2, 185 psi) or more\n2JZ–GTE\n1,079 kPa (11.0 kgf/cm2, 156 psi) or more\nMinimum pressure:\n2JZ–GE\n1,079 kPa (11.0 kgf/cm2, 156 psi)\n2JZ–GTE\n883 kPa (9.0 kgf/cm2, 128 psi)\nDifference between each cylinder:\n98 kPa (1.0 kgf/cm2, 14 psi) or less\n(d) If the cylinder compression in 1 or more cylinders is low, pour\na small amount of engine oil into the
