INSPECT STEERING LINKAGE\n(a) Check the steering wheel freeplay.\nMaximum freeplay:\n30 mm (1.18 in.)\nWith the vehicle stopped and pointed straight ahead, rock the steering wheel gently back and forth with light finger pressure.\n\n(b) Check the steering linkage for looseness or damage.\nCheck that:\n• Tie rod ends do not have excessive play.\n• Dust seals and boots are not damaged.\n• Boot clamps are not loose.\n\nBoots\n\n17.
