INSTALL FLANGE ON INTERMEDIATE SHAFT\n(a) Coat the spline of the intermediate shaft with MP grease.\n(b) Place the flange on the shaft and align the matchmarks.\nHINT: If replacing either the center flange or intermediate\nshaft, reassemble them so that the front yoke of the inter-\nmediate shaft and the rear yoke of the propeller shaft are fac-\ning in the same direction.\n(c) Install the 2 washers.\n(d) Using SST to hold the flange, press the bearing into position\nby tightening down a new nut.\nSST 09330–00021\nTorque: 181 N·m (1,850 kgf·cm, 134 ft·lbf)\n(e) Loosen the nut.\n(f) Torque the nut again.\nTorque: 69 N·m (700 kgf·cm, 51 ft·lbf)\n(g) Using a hammer and punch, stake the shaft.\n\n7. INSTALL PROPELLER SHAFT\n(a) Align the matchmarks on the flanges and connect the flanges\nwith 4 bolts, washers and nuts.\nHINT: If replacing either the center flange or intermediate\nshaft, reassemble them so that the front yoke of the inter-\nmediate shaft and the rear yoke of the propeller shaft are fac-\ning in the same direction.\n(b) Torque the 4 bolts and nuts.\nTorque: 74 N·m (750 kgf·cm, 54 ft·lbf)\n\nPROPELLER SHAFT INSTALLATION\n\n1.
