DISCONNECT INTERMEDIATE SHAFT\n(a) Place matchmarks on the intermediate shaft and control valve shaft.\n(b) Loosen the bolt B and remove the bolt A.\n7. REMOVE IGNITION KEY CYLINDER ILLUMINATION\n2. REMOVE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT\nRemove the bolt.\n3. REMOVE SLIDING YOKE AND SHAFT THRUST STOPPER\n(a) Remove the bolt.\n(b) Shift the stopper.\n(c) Place matchmarks on the yoke and main shaft.\n4. REMOVE COLUMN LOWER COVER\nLoosen the clamp.\n5. REMOVE COLUMN UPPER BRACKET\n(a) Using a centering punch, mark the center of the 2 tapered–head bolts.\n(b) Using a 4–5 mm (0.16–0.20 in.) drill, drill into the 2 tapered–head bolts.\n(c) Using a screw extractor, remove the 2 tapered–head bolts.\n(d) Remove the bracket and column upper clamp.\n6. REMOVE WIRING HARNESS CLAMP AND COLUMN PROTECTOR\n7. REMOVE COMPRESSION SPRING\n(a) Using a torx socket wrench, remove the screw.\n(b) Remove the 2 bushings from the spring.\n8. REMOVE 3 TENSION SPRINGS\n9.
