INSPECT KEY CYLINDER\nCheck that the steering lock mechanism operates properly.\n\nR11204\n\nScrewdriver\nKey Cylinder\n\nR11205\n\n2. IF NECESSARY, REPLACE KEY CYLINDER\n(a) Place the ignition key at the ACC position.\n(b) Push down the stop pin with a screwdriver and pull out the key cylinder.\n(c) Install a new cylinder.\nHINT: Make sure the ignition key is at the ACC position.\n\n3. IF NECESSARY, REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH AND IGNITION SWITCH\n(a) Remove the 2 screws and warning switch.\n(b) Remove the 2 screws and ignition switch.\n(c) Install a new ignition switch with the 2 screws.\n(d) Install a new warning switch with the 2 screws.\n\n4. A/T:\nINSPECT KEY INTER LOCK SOLENOID\n(See page AT1–30)\n\n5. A/T:\nIF NECESSARY, REPLACE KEY INTERLOCK SOLENOID\n(a) Remove the 2 screws and solenoid.\n(b) Install a new solenoid with the 2 screws.\n\n6. IF NECESSARY, REPLACE MAIN SHAFT BUSHING\n(a) Using a screwdriver, depress the 3 projections on the busing to release the bushing, then remove the bushing.\nNOTICE: If the bushing interior is worn, install a new bushing.\n(b) Align the projections on a new bushing with the holes in the lower tube. Install the bushing until the projections are firmly engaged in the holes in the lower tube.\n\nSTEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY\n\nNOTICE: When using a vise, do not overtighten it.\n1. APPLY MOLYBDENUM DISULPHIDE LITHIUM BASE GREASE (See page SR–13)\n2.
