REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER\nRemove the 10 screws.\n2. REMOVE FR SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR\nRemove the 4 bolts.\n3. DISCONNECT INTERMEDIATE SHAFT\n(See page SR–15)\n4. DISCONNECT RH AND LH TIE ROD ENDS\n(See page SA–17)\n5. DISCONNECT PRESSURE FEED TUBE\nRemove the union bolt and gasket.\n6. DISCONNECT RETURN TUBE\nRemove the union bolt and 2 gaskets.\n7. DISCONNECT PPS SOLENOID CONNECTOR\n8. REMOVE RACK HOUSING BRACKET AND GROMMET\nRemove the 2 bolts and nuts.\n9. REMOVE POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY\nRemove the 2 bolts and nuts.\n\nPOWER STEERING GEAR DISASSEMBLY\n\nNOTICE: When using a vise, do not overtighten it.\n1. SECURE PS GEAR ASSEMBLY IN VISE\nUsing SST, secure the gear assembly in a vise.\nSST 09612–00012\n\n2. REMOVE TURN PRESSURE TUBES\n(a) Remove the 2 union bolts and 4 gaskets.\n(b) Using SST, remove the 2 tubes.\nSST 09633–00020\n(c) Remove the 2 union seats.\n\n3. REMOVE RH AND LH TIE ROD ENDS AND LOCK NUTS\nPlace matchmarks on the tie rod end and rack end and loosen the lock nut.\n4.
