ADJUST TOTAL PRELOAD\n(a) Using a hexagon wrench (24 mm), torque the rack guide spring cap.\nTorque: 25 N·m (250 kgf·cm, 18 ft·lbf)\n(b) Using a hexagon wrench (24 mm), return the cap 125\n(c) Using SST, turn the control valve shaft right and left 1 or 2 times.\nSST 09616–00010\n(d) Using a hexagon wrench (24 mm), loosen the cap until the rack guide spring is not functioning.\n(e) Using SST, a torque wrench and hexagon wrench (24 mm), tighten the cap until the preload is within specification.\nSST 09616–00010\nPreload (turning):\n1.0–1.9 N·m (10–20 kgf·cm, 8.7–17.4 in.·lbf)\n\n13. INSTALL RACK GUIDE SPRING CAP LOCK NUT\n(a) Apply sealant to 2 or 3 threads of the nut.\nSealant:\nPart No. 08833–00080, THREE BOND 1344, LOCTITE 242 or equivalent\n(b) Using SST and hexagon wrench (24 mm), torque the nut.\nSST 09922–10010\nTorque: 56 N·m (567 kgf·cm, 41 ft·lbf)\nNOTICE: Use SST 09922–10010 in the direction shown in the illustration.\nHINT: Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 340 mm (13.39 in.)\n(c) Recheck the total preload.\nPreload (turning):\n1.0–1.9 N·m (10–20 kgf·cm, 8.7–17.4 in.·lbf)\n\n14. INSTALL DUST COVER\n\n15.
