INSTALL BOTH GEAR SHAFTS\n(a) Install a new snap ring to the shaft.\n(b) Coat MP grease onto the snap ring.\n(c) Using a hammer and brass bar, install both side gear shafts.\nNOTICE: Be careful not to damage the side gear shaft\nand the oil seal.\nHINT: Whether or not the side gear shaft is making contact\nwith the pinion shaft can be known by the sound or feeling\nwhen driving it in.\n\nR07369\n\n30. INSPECT DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER\nUsing vernier calipers, measure the distance between the\nmating surfaces of the 2 side gear shafts, as shown.\nStandard Distance:\n2JZ–GTE M/T\n293.4 ± 0.65 mm\nExcept 2JZ–GTE M/T\n281.8 ± 0.95 mm\n31. RECHECK BACKLASH, TOTAL PRELOAD AND TOOTH\nCONTACT PATTERN\n32.
