INSPECT GEAR TEETH\nCheck the gear teeth on the pinion gear, idle gear and the clutch assembly for wear or damage.\nIf damaged, replace the gear or clutch assembly.\nIf damaged, also check the drive plate ring gear for wear or damage.\n\nFree\nLock\nP10821\n\n2. INSPECT CLUTCH PINION GEAR\nRotate the pinion gear counterclockwise, and check that it turns freely. Try to rotate the pinion gear clock–wise and check that it locks.\nIf necessary, replace the clutch assembly.\n\nP10577\n\nBearings\n1. INSPECT FRONT BEARING\nTurn each bearing by hand while applying inward force.\nIf resistance is felt or the bearing sticks, replace the bearing.\n\nSST\nP10593\n\n2.
