
3. ADJUST THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
(a) Loosen the two sensor screws.
(b) Connect the ohmmeter to the throttle position sensor terminals IDL and E2.
(c) Insert a thickness gauge (0.50 mm or 0.0197 in.) between the throttle stop screw and lever. Gradually turn the sensor clockwise until the ohmmeter deflects, and secure the sensor with two screws.
(d) Using a thickness gauge, recheck the continuity between terminals IDL and E2.
Clearance between

0.50 mm (0.0197 in.) Continuity
0.90 mm (0.0354 in.) No continuity
REPLACEMENT OF THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
1. REMOVE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
Remove two screws and the sensor from the throttle body.
2. INSTALL THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
(a) Check that the throttle valve is fully closed.
(b) Place the sensor on the throttle body as shown in the figure.
(c) Turn the sensor clockwise, and temporarily install the two screws.
