REMOVE OUTER CLUTCH PACK RETAINING SNAP RING FROM DRUM 2. REMOVE CLUTCH FLANGE, DISCS AND PLATES 3. COMPRESS PISTON RETURN SPRINGS AND REMOVE SNAP RING Place SST on the spring retainer and compress the springs with a shop press. Using a screwdriver, remove the snap ring. SST 09350-20013 C4181 4. REMOVE SPRING RETAINER, SNAP RING AND EIGHTEEN RETURN SPRINGS 5. ASSEMBLE REAR CLUTCH ON CENTER SUPPORT AND BLOW OUT PISTON (a) Slide rear clutch onto the center support. (b) Apply compressed air to center support to remove the piston. (If the piston does not come out, use pliers to remove it.) (c) Remove the front clutch from the center support. C4182 6. REMOVE O-RINGS FROM REAR CLUTCH PISTON INSPECTION OF REAR CLUTCH 1. INSPECT REAR CLUTCH PISTON (a) Check that check ball is free by shaking each piston. (b) Check that the valve is not leaking by applying low-pressure compressed air. Air C4183 (C4171)
