RA-16 REAR AXLE AND SUSPENSION — Rear Drive Shaft
(b) Align the matchmarks and, using a press and socket wrench, install the inner race onto the shaft.
(c) Using snap ring pliers, install the snap ring.
(d) Lightly tap in the balls with a plastic hammer.
NOTE: Coat the inner race, the cage and balls with the grease supplied in the boot kit.
4. ASSEMBLE INBOARD JOINT
(a) Align the matchmarks placed before assembly.
(b) Using a press and socket wrench, inboard joint onto drive shaft.
(c) Using snap ring pliers, install new snap ring.
(d) Pack 60g (0.13 lb) of grease into the flange side.
NOTE: Use the grease supplied in the kit.
(e) Apply seal packing THREE BOND 1344 (08833-00080) or LOCKTITE No. 242 around inboard side of the end plate.
(f) Install it to the inboard joint.
NOTE: Install the end plate by tapping around it.
5. APPLY GREASE OUTBOARD AND INBOARD
NOTE: Use the grease supplied in the boot kit.
(a) Apply grease into the outer race and boot.
Outer race: Pack in 60g (0.13 lb) of grease
Outboard boot: Pack in 60g (0.13 lb) of grease
