REMOVAL OF DIFFERENTIAL 1. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL 2. DISCONNECT REAR DRIVE SHAFT 3. DISCONNECT PROPELLER SHAFT FROM DIFFERENTIAL (a) Place matchmarks on the propeller shaft flange and companion flange. (b) Remove the four bolts and nuts. 4. SUPPORT DIFFERENTIAL WITH TRANSMISSION JACK 5. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL Remove the four differential mounting bolts and two nuts, remove the differential from the body. INSPECTION OF DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER 1. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER COVER (a) Remove the eight bolts from carrier cover. (b) Using a brass bar and hammer, separate the cover and carrier.
