Front ABS Speed Sensor Failure - Single Sensor Workaround via ABS ECU Rewire

BrakesintermediateOP Confirmed
Problem

Front ABS speed sensor failed and replacements are extremely difficult to find. Toyota no longer supplies them and used units are rare. The front sensors use a unique variable reluctance (VR) design that reads at 90° from the main sensor body off the inside of the front hub, making aftermarket replacement impractical.

Root Cause

Front ABS speed sensor failure with no direct replacement available from Toyota or aftermarket sources. The unique 90-degree variable reluctance sensor design makes fabricating a replacement impractical.
