No Power at Dimmer Switch - Blown Tail Light Fuse and Failed Dimmer Rheostat

ElectricalbeginnerOP Confirmed
Problem

No power reaching the female side of the dimmer switch connector, resulting in loss of exterior lights and gauge illumination. Brake lights still functioned but were back-feeding power through dual-filament 1157 bulbs to other lighting circuits.

No power at dimmer switch connectorExterior tail lights not workingGauge/instrument lights not workingBrake lights still functionalSome lights flickering on only when brake pedal depressed
Root Cause

The 15 amp tail light fuse had blown, likely caused by exposed/uninsulated wire splices on a replacement glove box light socket shorting out. The dimmer switch (rheostat) was also blown, which prevented gauge lights from working even after the fuse was replaced.
