Clutch Pedal Engagement Too Low - Master Cylinder Pushrod Adjustment Procedure

TransmissionbeginnerOP Confirmed
Problem

After installing a new clutch master cylinder, the clutch pedal engagement point was too low (close to the floor) and needed adjustment. The TSRM adjustment procedure is misleading, pointing to a seam between components labeled 'Pushrod Play and Freeplay Adjust Point' without clearly identifying which part to turn. The large 14mm hex fitting on the master cylinder appears to be the obvious adjuster after loosening the lock nut, but it is not - forcing it risks destroying the new clutch master cylinder.

Clutch pedal engages too close to the floorAttempting to turn the 14mm hex fitting flexes the entire pedal housing mountLock nut loosens freely but the apparent adjuster won't turn
Root Cause

Misidentification of the adjustment mechanism due to unclear TSRM instructions. The large 14mm hex fitting is NOT the adjuster - it is a fixed part of the master cylinder assembly. The actual adjuster is the small pushrod shaft itself, which must be rotated by hand to change the effective length and adjust pedal freeplay/engagement point.
