Adjusting Koni Yellow Shocks - Damping Adjustment Procedure

SuspensionintermediateOP Confirmed
Problem

After installing Koni Yellow shocks on a MKIII Supra, the damping felt too soft and the owner could not figure out how to adjust the stiffness. Unlike other Koni models that use white knobs on top, the Supra-specific Koni Yellows use a body-twist adjustment method with no clear instructions.

Damping feels too soft after installationNo visible adjustment knob on top of shockIncluded instructions cover 4 different shock models making it confusingCannot feel the adjustment 'catch' when attempting to turn shock body
Root Cause

The Supra-specific Koni Yellow shocks use a compress-and-twist adjustment method rather than the external knob adjustment found on other Koni Yellow applications. The adjustment requires significant force to fully compress the shock before turning, which is not obvious from the instructions.
