No Power to Dash/Gauges/Windows - Failed Alternator Fusible Link

ElectricalbeginnerOP Confirmed
Problem

Car would not crank or turn on at all. Turning the key to any position (ACC, ON, START) produced no clicks, sounds, or movement. No power to dashboard gauges, windows, or radio. However, headlights, pop-up light motors, turn signals, hazards, and aftermarket MAF Translator still had power.

Root Cause

The alternator fusible link (used on non-turbo 7MGE models instead of the 100 amp fuse found on turbo 7MGTE models) had physically deteriorated and fallen apart. This link connects battery power to the AM1 circuit which feeds the dash, gauges, windows, radio, and starter. Circuits fed directly from the battery White wire (headlights, headlight retractor motors, hazards, dome light, horn) continued to work because they bypass the fusible link.
