Installing High-Flow In-Tank Fuel Pump with Welded Sump in MKIII Supra Tank

Fuel SystemadvancedOP Confirmed
Problem

The Fuelab 92902 in-tank fuel pump (190 GPH) is too large for the stock MKIII Supra fuel tank, with the pump sitting an inch below the stock baffles. The stock tank design cannot accommodate the larger pump's pickup tube and sock, risking fuel starvation under hard driving or low fuel conditions.

Aftermarket high-flow in-tank pump does not fit properly in stock fuel tankPump pickup tube and sock cannot reach adequate fuel supply below stock bafflesRisk of fuel starvation during cornering, acceleration, or low fuel levelsStock baffle system incompatible with larger pump assembly
Root Cause

The stock MKIII Supra fuel tank lacks sufficient depth and baffling to accommodate larger aftermarket in-tank fuel pumps like the Fuelab 92902, leaving the pickup tube and sock above the effective fuel level under dynamic driving conditions.
