Seized Brake Caliper Slide Pins - Removal and Restoration

BrakesintermediateOP Confirmed
Problem

Upper caliper guide/slide pins were seized due to corrosion, preventing the caliper from sliding freely on the pins. The pins could not be removed by hand or with a hammer while on the car.

Caliper slide pins completely stuck and would not slide outExtreme resistance when trying to move the pinsPins seized with corrosion under the dust bootsAll four calipers (front and rear) had seized pinsRear brake line fittings also extremely difficult to remove
Root Cause

Corrosion buildup between the caliper slide pins and their bores caused the pins to seize in place. Lack of lubrication and moisture intrusion over time led to the corrosion.
