OEM Shifter Rubber Boot Replacement - Stretch Off Without Disassembly

TransmissionbeginnerOP Confirmed
Problem

The OEM shifter has multiple rubber boots that are difficult to remove for replacement. The large fat rubber section appears to have no obvious removal method, and the smaller inner boot can develop cracks over time.

Root Cause

The large upper section of the OEM shifter is crimped and glued/sealed to the lower shaft, making it appear as one piece. The rubber boots are tight-fitting and installed dry from the factory aging process, causing them to grip tightly and resist removal.
