SuperPro Steering Rack Bushings Too Thick to Install - Use OEM Instead

SuspensionintermediateCommunity Verified
Problem

SuperPro polyurethane steering rack bushings are too thick to bolt up properly on the MK3 Supra, particularly the driver's side bushing. The excessive thickness prevents the bolts from threading into the subframe, requiring dangerous amounts of force that can strip threads.

Driver's side SuperPro bushing too thick to allow bolts to thread into subframeInability to bolt steering rack mount despite hours of repositioning rack and clamping subframePossible thread stripping on subframe from forcing boltsInconsistent fitment between driver and passenger side bushings due to apparent quality control issues
Root Cause

SuperPro steering rack bushings have inconsistent thickness due to apparent quality control issues. The driver's side bushing in particular can be significantly thicker than the OEM bushing it replaces, making it impossible to thread the mounting bolts without risking damage to the subframe threads. Some users report both sides fitting (with difficulty), suggesting manufacturing variance between sets.
