Rear Alignment Won't Adjust - Cam Bolt Box Tabs Bent Flat
Camber and toe cannot be adjusted because the cam bolt adjustment box tabs (ears) on the rear subframe have been bent flat. The cam bolts spin freely but do not move the control arms in or out because the flattened tabs no longer provide the resistance needed for the eccentric cam to push against.
The tabs (ears) on the cam bolt adjustment boxes get bent flat, typically caused by alignment shop mechanics applying excessive force to seized or stuck cam bolts. The cam bolts can rust-weld to the metal spacer inside the bushing, and when a mechanic forces them, the rubber tears away from the internal spacer, allowing the cams to over-rotate past their intended range and flatten the box walls. Curb impacts can also push the bolt against the wall and flatten the tabs.
