A340E Auto Trans Not Shifting - Dead Shift Solenoids

Problem

Automatic transmission would not shift on its own and required manual shifting. After warming up, it would shift but skip 2nd gear entirely, going from 1st straight to 3rd. Would only downshift to 1st when nearly stopped.

Root Cause

Failed transmission shift solenoids. On bench testing, only 1 of 3 solenoids was functional - one was completely dead (showed 0 ohms resistance) and a second also failed the 12V activation test (did not click).
