Passenger Window Not Working From Master Switch - Contact Cleaning
Passenger window will not roll down when using the driver's side master switch panel, though it may still work from the passenger-side switch. The master switch may also exhibit intermittent operation for the driver's window (goes down but not up).
Carbon arc buildup on the internal rocker contacts inside the master window switch. The black carbon acts as an insulator, causing high resistance or complete loss of electrical contact. The DPDT (Double Pole Double Throw) switches have multiple spring-loaded contact points that become blackened over time from normal arcing during use. There are also hidden contacts deeper in the switch assembly that can develop the same carbon buildup. In some cases, the passenger-side rocking contacts can also become bent to different angles, preventing proper contact.
