SuperPro Rack Bushing Fitment Issue on 1989+ Supra PPS Rack - OEM Replacement Solution

SuspensionintermediateCommunity Verified
Problem

SuperPro polyurethane steering rack bushings do not fit the passenger side of 1989+ MKIII Supras equipped with Progressive Power Steering (PPS), which has a thicker tube on the passenger side compared to earlier models (1986.5-1988).

Passenger side SuperPro rack bushing will not fit over the thicker PPS rack tubeBracket clamp cannot close or bolt cannot thread in when using SuperPro bushing on passenger sideDriver side SuperPro bushing fits normally but passenger side does not
Root Cause

The 1989+ Supra PPS (Progressive Power Steering) rack has a thicker tube on the passenger side than the 1986.5-1988 rack. The SuperPro polyurethane rack bushings are designed for the earlier, thinner rack dimensions and are too large/thick to fit properly on the passenger side of the later PPS rack.
