OEM MAF/AFM Won't Work After Cleaning - Blow Dry Method Fix (CEL 31)

Fuel SystembeginnerOP Confirmed
Problem

After cleaning the OEM MAF (AFM) sensor and letting it air dry, the car runs extremely poorly - barely starts, won't rev above 2500 RPM, breaks up under throttle, and throws CEL code 31 (MAF sensor).

CEL code 31 (MAF sensor)Car barely startsEngine falls on its face when throttle is touchedWon't rev above 2500 RPM without breaking upRuns extremely rough after MAF cleaning
Root Cause

Residue from MAF cleaner (or electronics cleaner) remains trapped in the small holes at the base of the AFM splitter post when allowed to air dry. This residue interferes with the sensor's ability to accurately measure airflow, causing the ECU to receive incorrect readings.
