Squeaky Chatter Noise When Pressing Clutch - Bad Pilot Bearing

TransmissionadvancedOP Confirmed
Problem

Squeaky chatter noise coming from the R154 transmission area when pressing the clutch pedal. The noise only appeared after the car was driven for a while and warmed up — on cold start and first drive the noise was not present. Noise went away when the clutch pedal was released. Transmission itself shifted fine into all gears.

Root Cause

Bad pilot bearing. The pilot bearing was worn and causing the chatter/squeak noise when the clutch was disengaged (pedal pressed in), which worsened with heat as the bearing expanded.
