Factory Alarm Triggers on Door Open and Prevents Starting - Door Lock Cylinder Cleaning/Repair

Factory Toyota alarm system goes off when unlocking and opening the driver's side door, and the car will not turn over or start afterward due to the theft ECU immobilizer activating.
The door lock cylinder becomes sticky or the crescent-shaped copper contact inside the plastic cap on the back of the lock mechanism becomes detached from its small plastic rivet. This prevents the lock from properly signaling the theft ECU that a valid key unlock occurred, causing the alarm to trigger and the immobilizer to disable the starter circuit.
